MURRAY, Ky. 鈥 麻豆视频官网入口 is excited to offer a new criminal justice concentration within its Master of Business Administration (MBA).
The new 30-hour degree program will be open in spring 2026.
The MBA offers convenience for students, including classes taught on the Murray State's main campus during the days and evenings, and is offered 100% online, as well.
This is a great opportunity for law enforcement officials who are looking to transition from a long career in law enforcement or for those looking to advance their careers within the field, according to Director of the Center for Economic and Entrepreneurial Development Chris Wooldridge. The MBA with a criminal justice concentration builds on the education and experience law enforcement officials gain throughout their careers, enhancing their marketability whether they are looking to move up within the field or pursue new opportunities.
Murray State Criminal Justice Department Chair Dr. Katy Hancock added, 鈥淭his track will benefit students who are interested in a long-term career in criminal justice. Undergraduate students who would like to further their education before going into the field and who envision moving into leadership roles will find this degree a great fit. The same is true for current early-stage professionals who are looking to obtain a master's degree to better position themselves for promotion. In addition, later career criminal justice professionals with an eye on retirement would benefit from this program to transition into alternative criminal justice careers in the private sector or in consultation.鈥
鈥淐hris Wooldridge, Katy Hancock, and others have done tremendous planning and gauging potential market interests in this unique MBA with a concentration in criminal justice,鈥 said Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Tim Todd. 鈥淚n conducting multiple needs assessments throughout the 麻豆视频官网入口 footprint, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and this region of the United States, we believe this MBA with the concentration in criminal justice will yield interest and enrollments. This academic program speaks to the focus Murray State always has with serving our region.鈥
A collaborative effort between the College of Education and Human Services and the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business, the criminal justice concentration is the ninth MBA concentration area that the University offers. Others include accounting, business analytics, cybersecurity, economic development, finance, global communications, marketing and healthcare administration.
